The Da Paolo restaurant is situated on Charlotte Place in the heart of the capital. Ever since its establishment in 1990, the family-run restaurant has served authentic Italian dishes in a warm environment. Da Paolo attracts both locals and tourists and has built a strong clientele of regulars in the neighbourhood.

The menu of the Da Paolo is based on traditional Italian recipes with a contemporary twist. Only the finest and freshest ingredients are used to prepare the generous and mouth-watering presented portions. The à la carte menu includes dishes such as grilled Swordfish with Virgin Oil, lemon, fresh Oregano and Chives, Veal Escalope with Parma Ham and Sage and Tagliatelle with Porcini Mushrooms and Olive Oil. The complementing wine list offers a wide selection of Italian wines ranging from the house wine Trebiano D’Abruzzo (the red house wine is Montepulciano) for £4.25 per glass to pricier variants that are perfect for celebrations.

The ambience at the Da Paolo is very neighbourly and welcoming. The owners find it important that every guest feels at home and follow their aim to bring the feeling of a small Italian village to London. Not only the owners, but also the waiters are genuinely friendly and helpful and they create a true neighbourhood restaurant amidst the hustle and bustle of the centre. Da Paolo is open from Monday to Friday from 10:00 – 23:30 and on weekends from 17:00 – 23:30 hrs.

The food is always first rate, the portions are generous, the value is great, and the staff are friendly. You can expect about 25 quid per head for a glass of wine and a main course. I go to Da Paolo whenever I need a nice little friendly place to have a meal: it's great both for dates and for when my mum is in town. They know me in there, and they know my rather quirky dietary requirements, and what I am going to allergic to. When people ask me what I recommend, I generally reply: "the menu". I have never had a guest disappointed with any of the dishes which they have ordered (quite the reverse). But if pressed, I must say that my favourite is "Pollo Da Paolo", which is a speciality of the house and which usually tempts me away from the other options on the menu (which I really must get around to trying one day). This is what an eatery should be: small, friendly, and with first-rate food at a price that is quite affordable.
