Bangers Overview
The Bangers wine bar is situated in Eldon House on Wilson Street in the centre of the capital. The restaurant and wine bar belongs to the fabulous Davy’s group in the United Kingdom serving a modern British menu. Established in 1870, each Davy’s wine bar has its own distinct charm, all of them follow the same aim to provide the guests with a dining experience of the highest standard.
The menu at the Bangers comprises seasonal dishes prepared with the finest and freshest ingredients available. The à la carte menu includes signature dishes such as spring vegetable and herb risotto, smoked salmon and haddock fishcakes and 28-day aged charcoal grilled rib eye steak served with a grilled tomato and hand cut chipped potatoes. All meals are best topped off with one of the tasty desserts like the rich chocolate truffle or the farmhouse cheddar or mature blue stilton. The wine menu was designed to offer both complementing wines and wines that can be enjoyed on their own.
Bangers features modest wood furniture, sawdust covered floors and candle lit tables. Further, it is equipped with the traditional Davy’s wine cellar presenting rare, vintage and familiar wines. The restaurant was opened more than 20 years ago and has established a strong clientele of regulars and visitors. The friendly waiting staff welcomes every guest with the same genuine smile whether for a work lunch, an intimate dinner of a private event in one of the private function rooms. The restaurant is open from Monday to Wednesday from 11:00 – 21:00 hrs and from Thursday to Friday from 11:00 – 23:00 hrs.

Gem of a place
Harry Ward from Liverpool streetWent to Bangers for a works do and fell in love with the place. What a difference it makes by having your beer in proper pewter pint tankards and the beer served to you by the half gallon copper jug. We ordered snacks in the evening which although the bar was not to busy at the time it did take longer than expected, altough it gave us time to order more beer! We have all been back since and will continue to go back in the future.
